BC Lions slot back Geroy Simon along with Joe Cormier, President of Discount Car & Truck Rentals, and Peter Quevillon, Provincial Coordinator for KidSport were on hand at the Richmond location of Discount Car & Truck Rentals (9051 Beckwith Road) on Monday, February 6th at 10:00 am for a special cheque presentation.
For the fourth consecutive season, Discount Car & Truck Rentals has donated $100 for each touchdown the Lions score during home games to KidSport, a charitable arm of Sport BC that helps overcome the financial obstacles that may limit children from playing sports.
In 2005, the Lions scored twenty-eight touchdowns at BC Place with six coming courtesy of Simon. The $2800 donation now pushes the overall contribution to KidSport to $12,600.
Discount Car & Truck Rentals is a privately owned company established in 1980 in Hamilton, Ontario. Discount has grown phenomenally, now boasting over 200 locations coast to coast in Canada. There are eleven locations in the Lower Mainland.
