(Vancouver) Day Seven of training camp marks one full week since rookies and veterans joined together to form the 2008 version of the BC Lions. Cool temperatures but mainly dry conditions made for two productive practice periods but the head coach Wally Buono wasn't taking any chances with his players and chose to remain on the artificial grass of W.P. Mouat Secondary School.

Defensively, the Lions are in prime position to add outstanding reserve players with defensive backs Reggie Myles, Donald Brown and John Guice each showing lots of potential. Myles notched a terrific interception off of
quarterback Jarious Jackson in the morning team period. James Bethea, who saw limited action in 2007, is demonstrating excellent recovery skills and the ability to break up passes at the last possible moment.

The offense had its moment this morning as well with WR Eric Taylor make a circus catch amongst three defenders. All four quarterbacks are enjoying strong camps with Gino Guidugli throwing a rope to a streaking Jason Clermont and both Jarious Jackson and Buck Pierce completing plenty of long and medium range balls into the wind.

The morning wrapped up with DL Aaron Hunt pleading with teammates to vote in favour of the return of bacon for breakfast instead of the turkey bacon currently being served. "Justice must prevail," said a tearful Hunt.

Temperatures dipped a bit more for the afternoon practice but the tempo remained high with Paris Jackson dueling with Korey Banks and coming out on the winning side. Not to be outdone, DB John Guice picked Geroy Simon's pocket for a fingertip interception.

The veterans will spend Saturday night being entertained by the first-year hopefuls as the team celebrates its annual rookie night which also include bowling - no word on who managed to scoop bowling phenoms Otis Floyd and
Ryan Phillips.
