Crumb retires; three wideouts added

The BC Lions Football Club announced today that import wide receivers Aaron Krepps, Jerome Eason and Ramon Barber have been signed by the club.


Krepps, a graduate of Washington & Jefferson University finished the 2005 season ranked 7th in the nation in all-purpose yards with an impressive 176.9 yards per game. Last year he hauled in 75 passes for 1,100 yards and 15 touchdowns and earned his third consecutive First-Team All-PAC selection. Krepps finished his career second in the school's record books with 181 receptions for 2,811 yards (15.4 avg) and the all-time leader in kickoff returns (64), kickoff return yards (1,496), punt returns (76) and punt return yards (1,123).

Eason comes to camp after four years of college football in Utah, two at Utah State ('02-'03) and two at Southern Utah ('04-'05). He started all 20 games for the Thunderbirds over the last two seasons and led the team in receiving in both as a junior and senior. In 2004, he ranked 38th in the nation in receptions with a career-best 59 grabs and 806 receiving yards. Eason was also named to the Great West First All-Star Team as both a junior and a senior.

Barber appeared in 41 games over four yeas at Illinois State racking up 723 yards on 63 receptions and four touchdowns. A versatile player, Barber made the switch to defense back as a senior and notched 52 tackles and two interceptions in 2005.

The Lions also announced that non-import safety Jason Crumb has retired. Last season, Crumb appeared in 15 regular season games as well as the West Division Championship. Over a six year career ('00-'05), all with BC, he appeared in 88 regular season games notching 45 defensive tackles and 90 tackles more on special teams while adding in three interceptions.

Lions Training Camp begins on Sunday, May 21 at Rotary Stadium and surrounding fields located on the Abbotsford Exhibition Grounds.
