FELIONS FOCUS...NIKKI

Hey all you Lions fans!

My Name is Nikki Swerhun and I am a 24 year-old fashion designer living in Vancouver. I was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon but moved to Vancouver when I was 18 to further my education.

I’m a little ashamed to admit it, but I watched my first-ever football game from the sidelines during my debut as a Felion in June 2006. Although I had no idea what was going on, I became an instant fan of the CFL. My dad, a CFL fan since his childhood, still teases me to this day because I had to call him after that game and ask what a first down was. I soon caught on to the way the game is played and started to truly appreciate my position with the Lions.

I was lucky enough to be on the field when the Lions won the 2006 Grey Cup in Winnipeg. The energy in that stadium and on that field was truly remarkable. Although I’ve had the chance to experience so much during the last three years as a Felion, Grey Cup ’06 is still my favorite memory.

I am honored to be part of the 2008 Felions dance team and I’m looking forward to another exciting football season. I’m hoping for a very successful year and can’t wait to see how it plays out. See you at the games!
