
LIONS MAKE MOVES ON EVE OF 2008 TRAINING CAMP

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced the following player transactions today:
Suspended:
OL – Rob Murphy (at home awaiting birth of triplets)
WR – Paris Jackson (attending funeral in U.S.)
DB – Ahmaad Smith (attending to personal matter in U.S.)
Released:
WR - Keith Flanagan
QB – Omar Haugabook
The club also officially announced that OL Jon Hameister–Ries has
retired but will remain with the club to rehabilitate a knee injury
suffered in the off-season.
The moves bring the team’s training camp roster down to 76 players
including the CFL-mandated number of 68 players under contract. The
remaining players are made up of draft selections, juniors and other
non-counters. Among those invited to stay is Andrew Harris of the
Vancouver Island Raiders.
The Lions return to the practice field on Sunday, June 1 for the
official start of 2008 training camp with practices running from 8:30
am to 11:00 am and 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
