LIONS OFFENCE PICKS UP TWO

(Vancouver) The BC Lions announced today that import running back Amos
Allen and import receiver Jesse Holley have signed contracts with the
team.
Allen comes off an outstanding campaign in his first and only season at
South Dakota establishing a single-season record for rushing with 1,961
yards on 265 carries and a new single game record with 306 yards on 32
carries and two TD’s. In all, Amos notched 15 TD’s on the ground while
adding another 13 receptions for 176 yards and two majors through the
air. On four occasions, he ran for more than 200 yards in a game and
was selected to play in the 2008 Cactus Bowl – an East-West format
where the teams are comprised entirely of the best-of-the-best NCAA
Division II college seniors.
Holley signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals in
September 2007 and was released during training camp. As a collegian,
he appeared in every game during his four-year stay in North Carolina
(’03-’06) and totaled 126 receptions (8th all time at UNC) and 1,760
yards. His best season was in 2005, where he amassed 47 catches for 670
yards and earned an All-ACC honorable mention.
