LIONS REMAIN IN ABBOTSFORD FOR '09

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced today that it has reached an agreement with the City of Abbotsford, Abbotsford Tourism and the Columbia Bible College to extend its training camp partnership for another year. Training Camp 2009 will mark the fourth and final year the club will hold its training camp in Abbotsford.

Abbotsford has been a wonderful place to hold training camp the past three years and if there are interested parties out there looking to host us in 2010 they should take time to come out here and see how it’s done,” said Lions GM and head coach, Wally Buono.

From our earliest negotiations with Abbotsford city officials, we have been very impressed with the hospitality and flexibility they have demonstrated over the years and in the end, this was a very easy decision for our organization,” he added.

Abbotsford is BC’s fifth largest municipality with a population of more than 130,000 people. It has played host to such events as the 2006 BC Seniors Games and the 2004 BC Summer Games.
