The BC Lions Football Club announced this morning that non-import running back Jerome Messam has been suspended.

“In the best interest of the BC Lions Football Club and Jerome Messam, he has been placed on our suspended list while he works through some personal matters,” said Lions GM and head coach Wally Buono.

The Lions also released six players in advance of their first preseason game tomorrow in Calgary including import receivers Brandon Thompkins, Calvin Simon and Marc Ison along with running back Keegan Herring, defensive back Jasper Faulk and linebacker Tyrell Graham.
