LIONS UNVEIL LIMITED EDITION RETRO JERSEY

June 19, 2009

The BC Lions Football Club invited the media to an exclusive unveiling of their 1960s-era retro uniform on Friday at Columbia Bible College - home of this year's Training Camp in Abbotsford.

Legendary former linebacker Norm Fieldgate, along with current Lions Geroy Simon and Barron Miles were on-hand to reveal the uniform as part of the league’s CFL Retro: Celebrate the 1960s initiative this season.

The Lions will sport the stylized, 1960s-era Reebok uniform on the road versus the Edmonton Eskimos on Thursday, July 16th and will wear their popular third jersey at their Retro home game versus the visiting Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday, August 7th at BC Place.

Lions fans will have the first opportunity to purchase the unique, limited edition Retro jersey prior to the general public at the Lions pre-season home game versus the Edmonton Eskimos next Tuesday, June 23rd.  Retro merchandise will also be available throughout the 2009 season at select retailers as well as online at bclions.com and cfl.ca.
