
Lions ink three first-round picks

The BC Lions Football Club announced today that three of the club's first round draft picks from the 2005 and 2006 Canadian College Drafts have been signed. Terms of the deals were not released.
The Lions 1st round pick (8th overall) from 2005, running back Alexis Bwenge along with this year's selections; linebacker Jay Pottinger (1st round, 2nd overall),and offensive lineman Dean Valli (1st round, 6th overall) have all put pen to paper with the Leos.
“I am very happy to have these players under contract and I think each has a great opportunity to contribute to our team this year,&rdquo said GM and head coach Wally Buono.
The Lions also announced that slot back Mike Lindstrom the team's fifth-round selection (40th overall) in the 2006 Canadian College Draft has signed with the club.
All four prospects will look to crack the line-up starting with Lions Rookie Camp later in the month (May 18-20) in Abbotsford.
