(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced today that they have signed import defensive back Sir James Delgardo, import receiver Micah Johnson and import defensive lineman Caesar Rayford. All three players appeared at the club’s final free agent camp in Portland, Oregon this past weekend.

Delgardo spent the 2007 season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and appeared in eight games recording 16 tackles and an interception. He was released by the Ti-Cats earlier this spring.

Johnson totaled 57 receptions and 783 yards and five TD’s over his final two years at South Dakota State (’05-’06) after seeing spot duty on offence in his first two seasons. An offensive threat on special teams as well, Johnson returned 20 kickoffs for 364 yards for the Jackrabbits.

Rayford was pressed into action in his freshman campaign at the University of Washington and played four seasons with the Huskies (’04-’07) appearing in 35 career games. The Washington native recorded four career sacks and nine tackles.

The Lions also announced that running back Butchie Wallace has been released.
