
MCCALLUM EARNS CFL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD

(Vancouver) The Canadian Football League announced its Player of the Week award winners for Week 13 this morning and among them is the Lions’ Paul McCallum who booted six field goals and added a convert in the club’s 27-21 victory last Saturday over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The 15-year CFL veteran currently sits fourth in points with 131 and has enjoyed excellent season to date good on 30 of 35 field goal tries (85.7%) second only to Saskatchewan’s Luca Congi (89.7%).
In his last five games, McCallum has been good on 15 of 16 attempts and in four of those five games he’s hit on field goals of least 43 yards or more. This is McCallum’s first award of the 2008 season.
The CFL also announced that Lions linebacker Javier Glatt was runner-up in the Canadian Player of the Week category. Glatt racked up eight tackles in last week’s win.
