(Vancouver) Following a thrilling 27-18 win over the visiting Winnipeg Blue Bombers last Friday night, receiver Paris Jackson has earned the CFL Player of the Week vote as the Canadian Player of the Week.
Jackson racked up six catches for 114 yards on Friday night – including a 56-yarder – and also recorded a kick return for 17 yards to help secure the win during the Lions’ tribute game to late president and CEO Bob Ackles. This is Paris’ first Canadian Player of the Week award.
The CFL also announced that defensive back Korey Banks was named runner-up in the Defensive Player of the Week category after recording five tackles, two sacks and two interceptions on the night.
The Lions take on the Montreal Alouettes this Friday night at 7:00 pm at BC Place for their first meeting of the 2008 season.
