WAKE EARNS SECOND WEST DIVISION OUTSTANDING DEFENSIVE PLAYER NOD

(Vancouver) The Canadian Football League announced its 2008 Outstanding Player nominees and among them is the Lions’ Cam Wake who will represent the West Division during Grey Cup week in Montreal as the Outstanding Defensive Player.
Wake dominated in 2008 recording twice as many sacks as his nearest competitors (23) who just happened to be teammates Brent Johnson and Aaron Hunt on a powerful Lions defensive line. The 2007 CFL Outstanding Rookie and Defensive Player picked up where he left off going into his second season as a Leo and added the team nominations as Outstanding Player and Outstanding Defensive Player to his growing football resume in 2008. Yesterday, the CFL announced that Wake along with 12 teammates would also represent the West Division as All-Stars.
The league-wide winners will be announced during Grey Cup week at the Gibson's Finest CFL Player Awards on Thursday, November 20 at the Casino de Montréal.
