WAKE NAMED DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

(Vancouver)  The Canadian Football League announced today the D-lineman Cam Wake has been selected as the Defensive Player of the Week.

Continuing to present a compelling case for the West Division Most Outstanding Player vote, Wake recorded a nine-tackle, three-sack performance to help clinch the Leos’ 40-10 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last Saturday night. This is Cam’s third Defensive Player of the Week award in 2008 with the first two coming in Weeks 2 and 11. He was also named the CFL Defensive Player of the Month for July and continues to lead the league in sacks with 18 – twice as many as any other player.
