7:30 pm - BC Place

The BC Lions Football Club welcomes the Saskatchewan Roughriders to BC Place for their first meeting under the dome in 2009 this Friday, August 7th at 7:30 p.m. (gates at 6:30 p.m.).

Friday night marks the Lions’ 1960s Retro Game at BC Place, with Leos alumni Norm Fieldgate, Willie Fleming and Tom Brown to be honoured during a special halftime ceremony along with a special salute to BC’s emergency services.

The BC Lions Street Party kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on the corner of Beatty and Robson streets.  In addition to live music by Dreams - The Ultimate Tribute to Fleetwood Mac, the Felions Dance Team and Leo the Lion will be on hand and there will be plenty of family activities, including face painting, inflatable games and poster making.  Exciting new Lions merchandise and great food will also be available.  And at 6:30 p.m. on the Terry Fox Plaza, pay a visit to some very special Lions 1960s alumni who will be signing autographs just outside Gate A!

Gear up for another season of Black-and-Orange football and purchase exciting new Lions merchandise – including the Lions’ 1960s-inspired retro jersey at kiosks located at Terry Fox Plaza and throughout BC Place.

The Lions Share partner for Friday’s game is Kidsport.  Net proceeds from the Street Party’s Taste of Terasen barbecue (located at the Terasen booth) and the Game Day Auction (located at Section 242 on Level 2) will benefit this outstanding charity.  
 
The BC Lions CAT (Customer Assistance Team) is back in 2009 ready to assist fans throughout the game.

The 'I'm A Fan, Not A Fool' program is back for another season in 2009 with fans encouraged to report un-Fan-like behavior quickly and discreetly by calling 604.661.3434, e-mailing fan@bcplace.com from a wireless device, or by alerting BC Place security personnel.
