Maea was signs as a free agent by the Lions in February 2024.

Highlights:

2019-2023: Maea was a member of the Alliance of American Football’s San Antonio Commanders before the league ceased operations in April. He then signed with the XFL’s Dallas Renegades ahead of the 2020 season before ending up with the New York Guardians. Maea then was selected in the USFL Draft by the Michigan Panthers. In 2023, the Arlington Renegades selected him in the XFL Supplemental Draft before he landed with the San Antonio Brahmas in late February,

2018: Signed with the New Orleans Saints as a non-drafted free agent and attended rookie mini-camp with the team.

College:

2017: Transferred to Southeastern Louisiana for his final season of eligibility.

2015-16: Maea began college career at LSU, appearing in 24 games over two seasons. In his first season, he would help Leonard Fournette rush for a Tigers single-season record 1,953 yards and would be named an All-Freshman by ESPN.
