2011: Cauchy stepped into a key role with the club as a key member of the secondary in just his second CFL season. He saw action in 16 regular season games, making five defensive tackles and another 10 on special teams. He started three games between Sep 2/11 and Sep 17/11 and remained in the lineup through the Western Final and Grey Cup games. Cauchy recorded his first career interception on Sep 2/11 vs Toronto and made two special team tackles in the club’s Western Final win over Edmonton. 

2010: Cauchy joined the BC Lions via the 2010 Canadian Draft and spent much of his rookie season on the practice roster. He was activated for the final stretch run into the playoffs and logged three games on special teams to conclude the regular season. He performed well enough in his short active stint to be included in the 42-man playing roster for the Western Semi-Final vs Saskatchewan.

Cauchy appeared in 28 games for the X-Men as a defensive back and kick returner. In 2009, he notched 24 tackles, five of which were for a loss to go along with three sacks and an interception.

The gifted and speedy defender also returned two punts for 33 yards and four kickoffs for 75 yards.

Cauchy was an Arts major while at St. Francis, specializing in Information Systems. The versatile athlete was also part of the St.FX track and field program and didn’t start playing football until the age of 17.

When not playing chess or tooling around with anything electrical, you’ll find Cauchy catching up on reruns of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He notes being able to play one game in Montreal for the past four seasons in front of friends and family as his most notable football memory to date.
