Gore was selected by the Lions in the second round (10th overall) of the 2010 Canadian Draft following an outstanding collegiate career at Bishop's.
He signed with the Lions on September 5, 2010 after attending training camp with the NFL's Green Bay Packers.
2012: Shawn enjoyed another solid season in 2012 leading the club with 722 receiving yards and ranking second in receptions with 62 with five touchdowns. He recorded a season-high 96 yards on September 15/12 vs Toronto which also included a 48-yard gain, his longest of the season. Shawn had 24 receptions that resulted in a first down which ranked him in fifth in the CFL with 255 of his receiving yards coming after the catch. Consistent and dependable, Shawn had 11 games with at least three receptions and ranked fourth among Canadian receivers league-wide.
2011: Shawn stepped into a starting role in 2011 and enjoyed a big season with 60 receptions for 836 yards and a TD. He finished second on the club in receiving and recorded a career-high 96 yards on seven catches on July 8/11 vs Calgary. Shawn caught passes in 17 of 18 games and had at least 50 receiving yards in nine contests. A key possession receiver, he registered 23 receptions to create first downs and had 293 yards after catch. He recorded his first career CFL touchdown in the season’s final game vs Montreal on Nov. 5/11.

2010-2012: Shawn joined the Lions midway through the 2010 regular season after the 2010 CFL Draft (Rd 2, #10) and a tryout with the Green Bay Packers. After three seasons he has now appeared in 48 regular and post-season games recording 122 receptions for 1,558 yards and six TDs.
Since 2011, Shawn’s total of 1,558 yards ranks #2 among all Canadian CFL receivers trailing only Chris Getzlaf of the Riders. In 2012, he became the first player other than Geroy Simon to lead the club in receiving yards since 2002.
2006-09: Gore was named Bishop's Male Athlete of the Year after leading the Gaiters in the 2009 regular season with 32 catches for 496 yards and five touchdowns. He also ranked third on the team with seven special teams tackles and posted a career-high 114 yards on seven catches in the Gaiters' playoff loss at Montreal on November 7.
Over his career, Gore has gained 1,172 yards receiving on 72 catches in 29 regular-season games, and he currently has a 21-game pass catching streak. Gore was rated tenth overall on the CFL Amateur Scouting Bureau's prospect list - the highest-rated receiver on the list.
At the 2010 CFL Evaluation Camp, his 40-yard time of 4.50 seconds was tied for fourth overall, and his 10-yard time of 1.44 seconds was second. He also tied for third in the broad jump with 10'3" and was fourth in the vertical jump at 39.5".
Shawn lives in the Vancouver area year-round with his wife, Jonie and their daughter, Naima. An active member of a number of Lions’ community programs, Gore majored in Sociology with a double minor in Criminology and Sports/Health Studies at Bishop's.
His most memorable football memory prior to 2011’s Grey Cup win is scoring two touchdowns and defeating Concordia University on the last offensive play of a must-win game to get into the 2009 CIS playoffs. Gore is one of three Bishop's players currently on the Lions roster as James Yurichuk and Tim Cronk are all former Gaiters.
