Courtney was added to the Lions practice roster on October 11, 2011.
2012: Courtney moved from the practice roster into the lineup in 2012, spending the entire season on the 46-man roster. After 13 weeks of reserve duty, he was added to the game roster on Oct 6/12 and responded with two catches for 29 yards in his CFL debut vs. Calgary. For the year, Courtney caught 16 passes for 264 yards and two TDs.
His finest game was his second start coming on Oct 12/12 vs Hamilton where he grabbed six passes for a team-leading 93 yards and a major. On October 26/12 vs Calgary, he recorded a career-best 99 yards on three receptions including a 56-yard gain. Courtney started the final five regular season games but did not suit up for the Western Final.
2011: Courtney signed as a free agent during the club’s practice roster expansion period but did not see regular season game action.

2011-2012: Courtney joined the Lions as a free agent, signing initially in the expanded practice roster period on October 11, 2011. He did not see any action during the regular season or playoffs. He made his CFL debut in 2012, playing in five regular season games.
2007-2009: Courtney was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the sixth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year contract with the team in July that year and made his NFL debut on September 16, 2007. Courtney recorded 14 receptions for 136 yards, 10 special team tackles and one kickoff return for 27 yards in first two NFL seasons and 18 games.
He was waived by Seattle in 2009 and was out of football for 2009 and 2010 after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis – he is currently in remission.
2003-2006: In 50 games at Auburn, Taylor started 33 times and left the Tigers as the all-time leading receiver with 153 career receptions. He was only the fourth player in school history to gain over 2,000 yards receiving, totaling 2,098 yards (13.9 avg) with nine touchdowns.
He added 139 yards on 14 carries (9.9 avg) and completed one pass attempt for a 28-yard score. Courtney also excelled on the coverage units, recording nine special teams tackles.
Courtney majored in Business Management at Auburn University. While playing college football, Courtney was converted to a wide receiver, and set the school record for career receptions with 153, which is still the current record.
He lettered in high school at both the quarterback and cornerback positions.
