Norman was the Lions' third selection (22nd overall) in the 2012 Canadian Draft.
2012: Matt was selected by the Lions in the third round of the 2012 Canadian Draft and had an immediate impact as a rookie offensive lineman. Due to some early season injuries to veterans Dean Valli and Jon Hameister-Ries, Matt started his first seven CFL games.
He moved into a reserve role for two more contests before returning to school to complete his teaching certificate. When injuries struck the club again late in the year, Matt returned to the Leos to fill a reserve role in the Western Final versus Calgary.

2008-2011: Norman helped anchor the Mustangs’ offensive line for four seasons including the 2011 campaign when the Mustangs led the nation in rushing.
For his efforts, the Quebec native was named an OUA all-star and a First-Team All-Canadian.
Matt is a History major at Western Ontario and lists his parents as his biggest fans. Never far from a comedy, Matt’s favourite movie is Dumb and Dumber, and he loves the TV show Seinfeld. His favourite book is Game of Thrones and considers himself a fan of all music.
His most memorable football moment to date is playing in the Vanier Cup in his first year at Western in 2008. Six of his former college teammates currently play in the CFL. Matt returned to school midway through 2012 to pursue his goal of a teaching certificate.
