Bell signed as a free agent with the Lions on May 22, 2012.
2012: Josh played in two games in his first CFL season as a reserve defensive back. He started in his first-ever CFL contest on Jul 14/12 at Saskatchewan and saw action as a reserve on Aug 31/12 at Montreal. Josh notched two special teams tackles in each game along with a defensive stop in his start at Regina.
Josh spent the 13 games on the 46-man active roster as a reserve (not dressed) plus another three games on the injured list.

2008-2012: Josh signed as an undrafted free agent with the San Diego Chargers in 2008 but was released prior to the start of the season. He was signed by the Denver Broncos and placed on the practice roster before eventually seeing action in nine games where he racked up 34 tackles.
Following his release by the Broncos, Josh signed with the Green Bay Packers and spent the 2010 season on their injured reserve list. He signed with the Lions as a free agent in 2012 and played in two CFL games.
2003-2007: Josh played in 46 games from 2004-2007 at Baylor and recorded 93 tackles, 12 pass breakups, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble.
Josh started playing flag football at the age of eight and lists his three younger brothers as his biggest fans. His favourite football memories are his first-ever NFL game with the Denver Broncos and being a part of the Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers.
Outside of football, Josh runs his own personal training business, as well as a kennel and a player development website. In his spare time, Josh shows his dogs and volunteers his time as a coach at high schools. He can be found watching Braveheart or Game of Thrones, or listening to the music of Common. Josh also enjoys reading The Scarlet Letter and The Great Gatsby.
